Virtual Reality: What does an artificial intelligence dream about?

Google DeepDream is a computer program, which uses artificial intelligence to automatically classify images. Like a human brain, this neural network learns from examples. During the learning process, it programs itself and forms new neural connections. Afterwards it can be given an input, but what comes out is always a surprise. We cannot see inside the complex artificial mind any more.

By inverting DeepDream’s algorithms and feeding a virtual reality video through the neural network, this project transforms the real world into the world DeepDream sees. In this new realm, visitors can look through the eyes of an artificial entity in virtual reality – and experience how an artificial intelligence sees the world.
